Technical Assistance(TA) for Micro Finance Institutions

The Technical Assistance programme concentrates on cooperating with eighteen micro finance institutions and helps them to develop their businesses and manage their affairs more effectively. SPEED supports selected APEX bodies of micro finance service providers.

Micro finance encompasses the provision of financial services and the management of small amounts of money through a range of products and a system of financial intermediary targets low income clients. In Ghana most of the micro finance institutions are organised in APAEX bodies such as the Ghana Credit Unions Association(CUA), ARB APEX Bank, the National Association of SUSU collectors and Association of Financial Non Governmental Organisations.

The TA Programme supports 18 tailor made micro finance solutions

  • TA support for micro finance institutions where SPEED works directly with 18 micro finance institutions of diverse nature in a tailor made approach.
  • Support for APEX Bodies such as CUA providing efficient and better service to their members and
  • Improving financial literacy where SPEED is very active in raising awareness of important aspects of financial services to the costumers and potential costumers particularly in the rural areas but also trying to improve the relationship between financial institutions and its costumers
